MT. VERNON — —
The Jefferson County Historical Society "Day in the Life of a Prairie Child" program has a few openings for its final summer session on July 10.
The session will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jefferson County Historical Village grounds. The program lets children experience what life was like for a child living in the late 1800s.
Some activities take place in the village's one-room schoolhouse and other activities, like old-fashioned chores and games, will take place outside. The program is for any child ages 6 and older. Participants must bring a lunch from home.
The program is free of charge, but participants must pre-register. To register, call the Historical Society office at 246-0033.
