MT. VERNON — — The Jefferson County Historical Society will present an educational program on American abolitionist Julia Ward Howe at 2 p.m. March 15 at the Historical Village.
The event will feature a presentation by retired history teacher Barbara Kay, who will portray Howe and speak about different aspects of Howe's life. Howe is best known as the author of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
Kay's presentation should last about 45 minutes to an hour. The event is free and open to the public. Donations to the Historical Society will be accepted.
