MT. VERNON — Voters in three Jefferson County grade school districts will vote for or against a referendum on Tuesday to consolidate the districts into one.
The referendum must pass in all three districts by a simple majority vote in Dodds, Ina and Opdyke-Belle Rive in order for the consolidation process to move forward.
A “Get Out the Vote” rally was held at Dodds Grade School on Thursday evening, following a series of public meetings held throughout the school districts to inform voters about the referendum.
“The meeting was scheduled to give the public the opportunity to ask questions, and we provided the best possible answers,” said John Ashby, OBR interim superintendent. “We want to inform the public so they can make an informed decision on Tuesday.”
