Bean defeats Hulbert for supervisor

MT. VERNON — Independent candidate Amanda Bean defeated incumbent Jason Hulbert, a Democrat, by a 40-vote margin for Mt. Vernon Township supervisor in Tuesday’s election.

Bean collected 646 votes to 606 for Hulbert. Township Assessor Sherry Meadows and Terry Moore, highway commissioner, had no opposition. Township trustees elected to the township were Brett Gibbs (717) David Edmison (677), Curt Mowrer (582) and Nicholas Lemay (535).

Remaining township contested races include: Casner highway commissioner — Lance Hutchison 220, Bud Harris 57; Dodds township clerk —Marvin Richardson 187, Ben Johnson 179; township trustee — Asa Buck (167), Wes Lampp (188), Scott Flota (182), Randy Forby (178); Field township trustee — Alva Shehorn (68), Christopher Bean (69), Greg Marlow (63), Larry Wood (65); Grand Prairie highway commissioner — Tony Foutch (149), Tony King (47); McClellan township trustee — Steve Hays (161), Johnnie Nelson (146) Bradley Williams (128), Linda Smith (123); Rome township commissioner — Edgar Mooney (168), John Burkett (92); trustee — Rod Mays (206), James Burnes (146), Martin Miley (130), Gary Goddard (129); Webber township supervisor — Mel Brookman (159), Kevin Young (143); township clerk — Janeen Belmont (162), Mike Charron (141); highway commissioner — Robbie Drew (249), Michael Hodgkinson (52); township trustee — Jerry Vance (175), Justin Sneed (222), Rick McKinney (193), Timothy Marlow (148).
