Charges Filed

Anita S. Bailey, 45, of the 1400 block of Jones Street, was formally charged July 18 with retail theft. Records state on July 16 the defendant took four packages of curtains and one package of air freshener from Family Dollar, having a total value of less than $300.

•Skyler Lamberson, 21, Centralia, was formally charged July 18 with criminal trespass to a residence and battery. Records state on July 17 the defendant entered a residence of a woman knowing one or more persons were present; and a male subject was struck in the face.

• Dustin M. Crunk, 24, Dix, was formally charged on July 19 with aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated assault and two counts of criminal damage to property. Records state on July 18 the defendant while armed with a hammer prevented a woman from leaving her home, the defendant threatened to strike the woman with the hammer, and he damaged numerous household items and a motorcycle.

• Justin E. Starr, 22, of the 2400 block of Lamar Avenue, was formally charged Monday with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery. Records state on Feb. 24 the defendant strangled a female family member and struck the victim in the face.

Separate charges were filed Monday on two counts of unlawful restraint and two counts of domestic battery.

Records state on Jan. 15 the defendant detained a female subject, refusing to let her leave a bathroom, he grabbed the victim by the arm and dragged her into a residence, and he slapped the victim in the face and pushed her into a bathtub.

• Brooks J. Sides, 33, Centralia, was formally charged on Monday with aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint. Records state on July 20 the defendant choked a female family member and prevented the victim from leaving a motel room in the 400 block of South 44th Street.

• Chad J. Davis, 28, of the 1700 block of Main Street, was formally charged July 12 with domestic battery. Records state on July 12 the defendant struck a female family member in the face.

• Brian M. Wagner, 30, of the 900 block of Blueberry Hill Avenue, was formally charged July 12 with domestic battery. Records state on July 12 the defendant struck a female family member in the face.

• Eric L. Young, 45, of the 900 block of George Street, was formally charged July 18 with fleeing or attempting to elude and unlawful possession of cannabis.

Records state on July 17 the defendant fled from a police officer after being given a visual sign to stop, and the defendant had more than 2.5, but less than 10 grams of a substance containing cannabis.

• Jesse L. Beal, 24, of the 100 block of North Sixth Street, was formally charged July 18 with domestic battery. Records state on July 17 the defendant struck a female family member in the face.

• Romaine M. Heath, 32, of the 1100 block of Conger Avenue, was formally charged July 19 with disorderly conduct. Records state on May 17 the defendant made threats to beat up a family.

• April N. King, 32, of the 15000 block of East Illinois Highway 142, was formally charged Monday with disorderly conduct. Records state on July 6 the defendant threatened to beat up a woman.

• Eliud M. Lisboa, 20, of the 1600 block of Isabella, was formally charged Monday with retail theft. Records state on March 13 the defendant took numerous items from Kmart.

• James L. Phyfiher, 32, of the 2700 block of Colonial Drive, was formally charged Monday with violation of an order of protection.

• Kirbi J. Rinehart, 23, Salem, was formally charged Wednesday with retail theft. Records state on Monday the defendant took a suitcase from Walmart.

• Bradley P. Williams, 53, of the 12000 block of East Bunny Farm Road, was formally charged on Wednesday with criminal trespass to land.

Records state on Monday the defendant stayed on property in the 700 block of South 10th Street after previously being banned from the property by the Mt. Vernon Police Department.

• Cerica M. Barnett, 30, of the 1400 block of North Harmony Lane, was formally charged Wednesday with obstructing identification. Records state on Monday the defendant furnished a false name to a police officer.

•Holly S. Stewart, 27, of the 2000 block of Waltonville Road, was formally charged Wednesday with battery. Records state on Tuesday the defendant shoved a male subject.

Dispositions

Robert E. Hunter, 35, of the 1000 block of Wescott, pleaded guilty July 18 to a charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to 36 months’ conditional discharge.

• Stephen L. Johnson, 37, Bluford, pleaded guilty July 18 to a charge of theft under $300. He was sentenced to 30 months’ conditional discharge.

• Barrett L. Jones, 33, of the 800 block of South 23rd Street, pleaded guilty July 18 to charges of possession of a controlled substance and failing to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to six years to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

•Steven M. Huffman, 22, of the 1300 block of Wescott, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of failure to report annually. He was sentenced to 30 months’ probation and six months in jail.

• David L. Robinson, 35, of the 800 block of Taylor Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of domestic battery. He was sentenced to one year of probation and 46 days in jail.

•Trinity R. Albritton, 20 of the 300 block of Harrison Street, pleaded guilty July 19 to a charge of consumption of liquor by a minor. She was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge and 20 hours of public service.

• Kristopher A. Barnard, 21, of the 100 block of Rufus Street, pleaded guilty July 19 to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge.

• Laura L. Beneway, 48, Nason, pleaded guilty July 19 to a charge of retail theft. She was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge.

• April M. Cooper, 31, of the 800 block of Maple Street, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of resisting/obstructing a police officer. She was sentenced to five days in jail and ordered to perform 100 hours of public service.

• Angela D. Fitzpatrick, 35, of the 300 block of Caborn, pleaded guilty July 18 to a charge of battery. She was sentenced to two years of court supervision.

• Timothy G. Noe, 36, of the 600 block of Harrison Street, pleaded guilty July 18 to a charge of criminal trespass to land. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge and given credit for 10 days served.

• John R. Verichizzi, 48, Nason, pleaded guilty July 19 to a charge of retail theft. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge.

• Charles N. Wenzel, 43, Equality, pleaded guilty July 18 to a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge.

• Jessie W. Howard, 48, Ina, pleaded guilty July 18 to charges of domestic battery and resisting/obstructing an officer. He was sentenced to 18 months’ conditional discharge to run concurrently on both charges. He was given credit for 15 days served on the battery charge and 10 days served on the resisting charge.
