Council approves Drury agreement

A new seven story, 180 room hotel will be built on the site of the existing one



  • Approved a bid from Kielser Police Supply in Jeffersonville, Ind., for police ammunition in the amount of $8,248.50;
  • Approved a bid of $115,206 from Freeman Environmental Services, Inc., for demolition of 13 dangerous and dilapidated properties;
  • Approved the closure of South 27th Street from Logan to Jamison on Dec. 14 and 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for the Annual Christmas in the Park;
  • Held a first reading on a levy ordinance;
  • Declared a 2009 Ford Crown Vic as surplus and donated the vehicle to the Rend Lake College Police Department;
  • Rezoned property at 101 S. 27th St., from R2 to B2;
  • Granted a conditional use permit to Amber Robinson of 1804 Pace for a home day care;
  • Approved an intergovernmental agreement with the state comptroller’s office for its local debt recovery program;
  • Approved a quitclaim deed from the State of Illinois Department of Military Affairs for the former armory property; and
  • Approved the re-appointment of Ron Neibert to the 911 Board.
