MT. VERNON — —
MT. VERNON — Subscribers to the Mt. Vernon Register-News who receive their papers through same day mail delivery and live in those areas on the outskirts of the city did not receive a paper on Tuesday.
According to Circulation Manager Jimmy Bass, the disruption in delivery was due to an employee of the Mt. Vernon Post Office misplacing the papers.
"The missing papers were noticed later in the morning," Bass said. "We have spoken with the Postmaster, and they will be working on a plan to ensure this doesn't happen again."
Mt. Vernon Register-News Publisher Bob Dennis apologized for the error.
"We are very sorry for this situation," Dennis said. "We're working closely with the Post Office to ensure this never happens again. Our readers expect, and we expect, that our newspaper be there the same day."
Bass said subscribers who were affected will receive the Tuesday edition of the Register-News today with the Wednesday edition.
