Details involving an accident involving a Good Samaritan Regional Health Center employee on Saturday were unavailable.
According to unconfirmed reports, a woman was struck by a vehicle outside the hospital.
Hospital officials confirmed that an accident occurred, although details were not furnished on Monday.
According to a hospital statement, “An accident involving one of our employees occurred at the existing Good Samaritan Regional Health Center at 605 North 12th Street. The Good Samaritan Regional Health Center response team responded quickly to the situation. Our employee was subsequently transferred to a St. Louis hospital. To respect the privacy of our employee we cannot discuss the details surrounding the accident or their condition. Our most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to this employee and their family.”
Police logs checked on Monday make no mention of the Mt. Vernon Fire Department or any medical emergency personnel being called to the hospital.
