MT. VERNON — Choral music supporters have become fond of the holiday presentations performed by the Cedarhurst Choral Project.
Now they’ll get a Summer Solstice concert to relax and enjoy memories of the good ole’ summertime. The Cedarhurst Choral Project will present the concert at 3 p.m. June 23 in the Mitchell Museum Performance Hall at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts.
Cedarhurst’s resident community chorus is comprised of approximately 20 volunteers who present a diverse repertoire of choral music for the public’s enjoyment.
Tickets are $5 for Cedarhurst members, $8 for non members and $3 for students.
According to information from the Museum, favorites like Buffalo Girls and Stella by Starlight will be performed, along with a medley from Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess, plus “other surprises old and new.”
The choral group is under the direction of John McGehee. Shelli Pierce is the pianist and the group will be joined by the jazz trio of Roger Coatney, Brett Gibbs and Rolland Mays.
Vocalists in the group include: Kathy Calvert, DeAnna Clark, Brett Gibbs, Sierra Harrell, Allyson Heitmeyer, Bill Hogue, Robert Huffman, Michelle Jones, Mike Launay, Tammy McGhee, Josh Nelson, Paula Routt, Adam Shafer, Kalen Soger, Randy Soger, Shelley Soger, Cindy Strothmann and Hope Wallace.
