Opdyke school won't cut transportation

This spring, letters were sent home to parents asking them how they would feel about such a change. The survey yielded mixed results with one-third of parents responding they would take their children to designated pick-up sites and two-thirds indicating they would not.

Other board actions June 17 included:

n Renaming of the Opdyke Attendance Center to Opdyke-Belle Rive Grade School.

n Approval of the district's amended budget for 2012-2013, which is “in the black,” Blakey said.

n Approval of several new hires, including softball coach Fred Mooney, assistant volunteer softball coach Alisha Capps, baseball coach Bill Miller, cross country coach Jacob Boone, paraprofessionals Peggy Manning and Heidi Leuellen, and seasonal paraprofessional Shana Poole.
