---- — A Jefferson County man was sentenced to federal prison on crack cocaine charges, Stephen R. Wigginton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced.
Andre T. Davis of Mt. Vernon was sentenced to 13 ½ years in prison, four years of supervised release and fined $200.
The Court sentenced Davis as a career offender due to Davis’ previous crimes. Davis had previously pleaded guilty to a federal indictment charging that on May 18, 2012, in Jefferson County, Davis knowingly and intentionally distributed crack cocaine.
The investigation was conducted by the Joint Narcotics Unit of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney George Norwood.
