Family day to be held

BONNIE —The Bonnie Holiness Camp will host its first family day on Saturday.

The staff at the camp encourage area residents to come out and enjoy the day with their families from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the camp. The camp site is located on 9758 East Richview Road.

"Life is all about electronics these days so getting out and enjoying time with your kids is important," said Tammy Endsley, the youth director at the Bonnie Holiness Camp.

The purpose of this free event is to raise awareness about the camp and it also is a fundraiser for the youth program and the camp in general.

"We just want everyone to know the camp is still here. The camp is open 10 days out of the year," Endsley said.

There will be several activities going on throughout the day including a craft show of local vendors, inflatables, carnival games, a silent auction, a horse shoe tournament, corn toss and volleyball.

The Wooden Spoon will be catering for this event. Attendees are welcome to purchase their lunch from the vendor. Several food items will be available including hot dogs, sloppy joes, chicken nuggets, brownies, cookies, homemade fries, banana bread, apple bread, bottled water and soda.

Registration for youth camp will also be going on during the day. Endsley will be signing up anyone who is interested.

Endsley is hoping for a large turnout. She said the day will be all about having “old time family fun.”

Craft booths are still available for $25 for the day. Anyone interested in the event or a booth rental may contact Endsley at 302-7661.
