Granada plans final Kids' Matinee of season

“If it’s sunny and warm, you can’t fight Mother Nature,” Lister said.

The films selected for the 2013-2014 matinee season have included a mix of live action and animated movies. Several local banks and Good Samaritan Regional Health Center have served as sponsors.

Granada officials and sponsors had input on which films were chosen. The upcoming May 10 screening is sponsored by Banterra Bank.

“The Odd Life of Timothy Green” is a 2012 live-action Disney film starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton. It follows the story of a magical boy and the effect he has on those around him.

Sharon Maxedon, manager of Banterra Bank, said her company is proud to support the Classic Kids’ Matinee as it gives local children and their families a more affordable option for going to the movies.

“It’s a win-win for everyone,” Maxedon said. “I think it’s actually good will. Anything to do with children, the bank is very supportive.”

Prior to the May 10 screening, a drawing will be held for a free kids’ birthday party at the Froggeez family fun center.
