MT. VERNON — Charter Communications customers throughout Southern Illinois were without service on Tuesday for several hours.
According to information from Charter Business, a “main switch” went out in a fire panel for equipment that serves the region. Technicians were dispatched to replace the piece of equipment, taking several hours.
The initial report of outage was received about 10:45 a.m., and technicians were reporting it would be about 2 p.m. Tuesday before the switch was replaced and some customers back on line.
