MT. VERNON — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help regarding any information they could provide about several vandalism reports over the past two weeks.
During that time frame, there has been an increased number of cases involving intentionally damaged mailboxes, states a sheriff’s office news release.
Also, a report has been made regarding a religious sign that was damaged in a resident’s yard, close to the roadway.
Locations for these reports have not been provided, but the crimes occurred in the night time hours.
An unidentified county resident has offered a $500 reward for information leading to the successful conviction of the perpetrators of these crimes, the release states.
