MT. VERNON — An Ina woman has been arrested in connection with three area robberies, including The Cash Store robbery recently in Mt. Vernon.
Raquel Ashby, 39, was arrested on Tuesday and incarcerated at the Franklin County Detention Center, according to the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
Ashby is a suspect in robberies in Mt. Vernon, the Cash Store in West City, and the Bank of America in Benton, according to reports.
The arrest follows a joint investigation by the MVPD, Benton, West City, and Ina Police departments and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.
The Cash Store in Mt. Vernon in the 3300 block of Broadway was robbed on the afternoon of June 15. According to reports, the suspect did not display a weapon although she indicated she had one. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
