"We agreed to give them an increase if they met multiple times. They haven't met, and they have no business to conduct," White said. "I'm not in favor of paying. I thought it was clear what we were doing here. If you're on this committee and don't show up, you don't get paid."
Mulch said there may have been such an agreement to pay the commission on a per meeting basis, but he didn't remember it. The resignation of Lyle Wood as a member of the Board of Review was accepted during the Land, Tax and Appointments Committee meeting, Committee members then approved the appointment of former member Jerry McCracken, who has served on the review board for more than 10 years. The board is made up of two Democrats and one Republican as a result of the most recent county election in which the top vote-getter was a Democrat — Coroner Eddie Joe Marks. Sarah Bean and Don Davis are the Democratic members of the Board.
Kathy Wood and Lori Given were also re-appointed to the Jefferson County Health Department Board.
The full board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the County Board room.
