MT. VERNON — — A Mt. Vernon man was arrested Monday on a charge of mob action in connection to the shooting Sunday afternoon of Daniel Cortes-Reyes.
The defendant is Marcus L. Williams, 34. Additional arrests are expected in this case.
The shooting took place at around 1:53 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Ninth Street and Cleveland Street. Cortes-Reyes was first taken to a local hospital and then transferred to a St. Louis medical facility.
On Monday, Cortes-Reyes was released from the hospital. He was then arrested by the St. Louis Police Department on a Jefferson County warrant for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. His bond was set at $250,000.
