Granada unveils titles for Classic Kids Matinee

Froggeez is now located in Centralia, but will be opening a new site in Mt. Vernon soon, D’Arcy said. The center has inflatable bounce houses, arcade games, food, and more.

“By the time we have our first movie in October, they will be operational (in Mt. Vernon),” D’Arcy said of Froggeez.

D’Arcy said the Classic Kids Matinee has continued to grow in popularity. Last season, at least 1,000 people attended throughout the whole season. While some screenings have lower attendance, others draw well over 100 people.

All children attending a showing must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Concessions sold will benefit ongoing renovations at the Granada, which is a not-for-profit theater.

The Granada is located at 108 N. Ninth St. in Mt. Vernon. For more information on the matinee program, call 740-0707 or visit
