The employees of Mt. Vernon Health Care enjoy wearing jeans on Fridays as many other offices do, however, for the employees, it’s not just a casual Friday, but a day to give back. The employees pay a fee for the privilege of dressing in casual attire. The funds collected are used to support local charities. The month of April is designated Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, so the group chose the Amy Center to benefit from the funds. Debra Newbury, activity director at Mt. Vernon Health Care and Beth Wilson, activity director, presented various items to the Amy Center along with two blankets made by residents in their “Knots of Love” group. The items will be given to children who come through the center for services.
