MT. VERNON — Construction in the King City came in at $294,000 for April, down from $405,462 in March.
Business construction permitted came in at $234,000, with $139,000 of the total coming from Faulk & Foster, to add on to a cellular tower located at 7 Professional Plaza. $40,000 was permitted to Qi Ton Lin who plans to open the Ali Asia Cuisine restaurant, for alterations to an existing building located at 101 S. 27th St. Additional business construction is a $55,000 renovation project to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant, 4425 Fairfax Dr.In March, commercial building was at $401,462. The largest permit in March was issued to Greenwalt and Son Company for the site work and construction of a business building at 3600 S. Watertower Place at an estimated cost of $250,000.Residential permits issued in April were:Harry Flack, 2612 Windcrest, to put in an above ground pool at an estimated cost of $5,000;Jeff Hacker, 5 Crownview, to construct a sun room at an estimated cost of $15,000;Lois Schrum, 124900 E. Old Union Road, to construct a pole barn at an estimated cost of $32,000;Lea Dodson, 1113 Veterans Memorial Dr., to place a portable shed at an estimated cost of $2,000; andQu Tong Lin, 2702 College St., to build a garage at an estimated cots of $6,000.Signage permits issued in April were:Steak-N-Shake, 130 N. 44th St. at no estimated cost;Hairport, 2507 Broadway, to place a sign at an estimated cost of $700;Lifeboat Alliance, 1717 Jefferson St., to place a sign at no estimated cost; andJefferson County Shriners, 11675 N.
