The Mt. Vernon/Jefferson County Narcotics Division, with the assistance of the joint High Risk Team, executed a search warrant on Monday and two people were arrested.
The warrant was executed in the 300 block of North Sixth Street after investigations by the Narcotics Division revealed information that methamphetamine was being manufactured and sold from the residence.
Taken into custody were Angela R. Green, 44, and Lori A. McKenzie, 35, occupants of the residence. Both were charged with possession of controlled substances and meth manufacturing, according to a release from the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
A search of the residence by detectives revealed quantities of methamphetamine, drug equipment, United States currency and meth lab equipment which had been used to manufacture meth, the release said.
The search warrant was prepared with the assistance of the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office and was signed by Judge David Overstreet.
