MT. VERNON — A 37-year tradition which brings visitors and artists together continues this weekend with the Cedarhurst Art and Craft Fair.
The event will be held at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts on Sept. 7 and 8, with the Friday Night Preview Party from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6.
The Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each day, with admission $5 for adults and children 10 years and younger free. Organizers expect at least 130 artist booths, an entertainment tent, Kids Zone, food concessions, beer tent, artist demonstrations and the Cedarhurst Clay Club Spin-A-Pot.
Entertainment includes the Soulard Blues Band for the Friday Night Preview Party, performing from 6:30 to 9 p.m.; South of 70 on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Han Ma and the Camaros on Saturday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.; The Haneys on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and RBR Trio + 1 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The preview party will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 6, with admission $10. Cedarhurst members pay $8 in advance.
“It gives people the first choice to look at items, make purchases when it isn’t as crowded and enjoy entertainment and have a social event,” said Cedarhurst Executive Director Sharon Bradham.
Those attending the Preview Party will be able to meet artists and shop from 5 p.m. to dusk. Concessions will be provdide by Smokin’ T’s BBQ, and a beer and wine tent.
Those attending the Cedarhurst Art and Craft Fair will be able to park at Times Square Mall and ride a shuttle at a cost of $3 for a round trip, and handicap accessible shuttles are available.
