Candidates pick up petitions

---- — Several more candidates have picked up petitions of candidacy for the March 18, 2014, primary.

Information from County Clerk Connie Simmons reveals five more candidates are circulating petitions.

They include: James Moore, a Democrat, for County Board District 11 and precinct committeeman in Mt. Vernon 9; and Republicans Cliff Lindemann for precinct committeeman in Webber 1, Allen Simpson for precinct committeeman in Mt. Vernon 1, Walter Nadolski, for precinct committeeman in Dodds 2, and Bob Watt for County Board in District 10.

Candidates who previously picked up petitions include: Simmons, treasurer Dan Knox, Sheriff Roger Mulch, and sheriff candidates John Lewis and Joey Porter.

Candidates can begin turning in their petitions to Simmons on Nov. 25. Candidates have until Dec. 2 to declare their candidacies.
