MT. VERNON —The Mt. Vernon Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Toy Box Tag Sale and the Specialty Fair, a combined event, on Saturday.
“[The Toy Box Tag Sale] gives kids a chance to empty out their closet of toys they may have outgrown,” said Wes Plummer of the Parks and Recreation Department. “It also is a way for the kids to make room for new Christmas toys or a way to make money to buy for their family.”
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rolland Lewis Building at Veterans Park.
This annual event will have different items for sale by residents, such as board games, collectables and baby items.
All tables have been rented out for the
event, but Plummer mentioned a waiting list that anyone still interested could be put on by the chance a table may open. It is $5 to rent a table for the event.
Although all the tables are rented, Plummer said this is an opportunity for residents to make some early Christmas purchases.
The Parks and Recreation Department is also sponsoring a Specialty Fair that will feature businesses such as Pampered Chef, Avon, Tupperware and MaryKay.
The Specialty Fair will also be held at the Rolland Lewis building at the same time as the Toy Box Tag Sale.
Vendors will be set up in a separate part of the building.
“If people can make it out, this will be a one stop to shop for all,” Plummer said.
