---- — MT. VERNON — Santa will be making an early visit to the King City.

Mt. Vernon Parks and Recreation Department has announced they have arranged for Jolly Saint Nick to make telephone calls to area children on the evening of Dec. 17 between 6 and 8 p.m.

Parents of children under the age of 8 may pick up a form at the park office beginning Monday. In order to receive a call from Santa, all letters must be mailed back to the park office or dropped into Santa’s North Pole Express Mail Box located outside the park office at 800 S. 27th St. by noon on Monday, Dec. 9.

This is the sixth year that Santa has been available to stop into the park office to place his calls.

“Santa’s made some time for us again this year,” stated Recreation Coordinator Wes Plummer. “This is another chance for him to check his list for the good boys and girls.”

He added, “Santa doesn’t make any promises. He just says he will do his best, but his sleigh gets pretty full and he has a lot of stops.”

You may call the park office for more information at 242-6890. Forms will also be available on the city’s web site at www.mtvernon.com.
