Council to consider annexation

“There are some sidewalks on Richview we’re replacing. Right now, the sidewalks are intermittent. In some places we have sidewalks, in other areas we don’t,” Neibert said.

A resolution approving an agreement with local architect Rick Kirkpatrick regarding design services for the Mt. Vernon Market Place — at the location of the former Armory building. Kirkpatrick’s services were recommended by the city’s Branding Committee.

Kirkpatrick will provide preliminary design and illustration services to the city in order to depict proposed activities for the renovated facility, information states.

Neibert said the roof has been replaced on the facility and the gym floor — which was beyond rehabilitation — was taken up this week by local business woman Linda Lowery, who plans on using the wood as part of the revitalization project at her business on South Ninth Street.

IN OTHER BUSINESS:

n The council will conduct first reading on an ordinance rezoning property at 17198 E. Fairfield Road from agriculture to residential, mobile home. The petitioning parties are Donald and Deborah Coyle.

n Conduct first reading on an ordinance rezoning property at 726 N. Eighth St. from business to residential. The petitioning party is Crystal Webster.

Monday’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building at Veterans Memorial Park.
