“The word ‘community college’ is very misrepresenting for this facility,” Asbery said. “Where I’m from, a community college was a room in the middle of a field.”
Though he was sad to call it quits, Cunningham said he is leaving the board “in great hands.”
“We’ve got good people,” Cunningham said of the board. “We’ve got young and old. We’ve got strong businessmen, strong farmers (and) strong teachers.”
Other RLC Board actions Tuesday included:
n Approval of the sale of obsolete materials.
n Approval of a memorandum of understanding between RLC District #521 and Indiana Wesleyan University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Program.
n Approval of the Resource Allocation Management Plan (RAMP).
n Approval of bids for asphalt pavement sealing and striping at the Ina Campus and at the MarketPlace.
n Appointment of a business office/human resources specialist, a public information specialist and a business office accountant.
