MT. VERNON — — It may be the month of Halloween, but for the four active members of the Jefferson County Toys for Kids who shop year-round, it’s always Christmas.

To raise funds for shopping, the organization will have a spaghetti dinner on Wednesday at the 9th St. Grill from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Toys for Kids President Jill Holloway said.

Spaghetti plates will be $10 and spaghetti and meatball plates will be $12. All proceeds will be donated to Toys for Kids. Reservations are recommended.

Toys for Kids buys gifts and a stocking stuffer for 1,000 children a year across  the county, Holloway said. Children range in age from newborns to 13 years old.

“And we are always taking donation,” Holloway said.

Drop-off for donations is at Curves, 301 N. 27th St. Holloway said the toy give-away this year in Dec. 7 at the Times Square Mall.

Holloway also said the group is  always in need of volunteers. To volunteer, call Holloway at 755-0086 or 731-0319.

“It’s a lot of work but it does make you feel good,” she said.
