Crossroads Hospital names new CEO

MT. VERNON — Finney Mathew has been named as the new chief operating officer of Crossroads Community Hospital.

Mathew will replace Ed Cunningham, who recently joined Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City after more than five years as CEO of Crossroads Community Hospital.

Mathew will become the CEO on May 13.

"I look forward to working with the board, physicians and staff to continue Crossroads' strong commitment to clinical excellence, and our family is excited to join the Mt. Vernon community that showed us incredible friendliness during our visit," Mathew stated. "I have a passion for healthcare because it allows me to use my business acumen to help people."

Mathew and his wife, Cassie and their 20-month-old son, Parker, will be relocating to Mt. Vernon. He is currently CEO of Kosciusko Communtiy Hospital in Warsaw, Ind., a 72-bed facility. He previously served as director of operations at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

"Finny brings with him the experience that will continue Crossroads' commitment to providing patients with quality care," said Kathy Withers, chairwoman of the Crossroads Community Hospital Board of Trustees. "We look forward to working with him in his role as CEO."

Mathew is a native Texan who completed his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a master's degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
