iMetrik is the third party company that assumed responsibility for the computer problem. iMetrik equips GPS systems for Auto Credit.

Nick Skovgaard, marketing director for Auto Credit of Southern Illinois, said the problem was discovered about 8:30 a.m. Friday when a number of cars received signals that were not authorized by iMetrik.

The company posted the following information on its website Friday afternoon:

“We suffered a power failure which affected both of our servers. The result has been no access to our website … recovery is in progress,” it stated.
