Granada to show ‘Open Season 3’

Staff Report

MT. VERNON — — The Granada Theater will be hosting a showing of "Open Season 3" as part of its Classic Kids Matinee series.

The free show will be held Saturday, with doors opening at 1:30 and the movie starting at 2 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and there will be a drawing for a $50 young savers account at Mid Country Bank before the movie starts.

The third installment of the Open Season computer animated film series came out originally in 2010.

The movie is about Boog, who is plans an annual guys trip, but Elliot has distanced himself since starting a family. Since all the other guys want to spend time with their family instead of going on a guy trip, Boog decides to take a trip of his own, which leads him to a Russian traveling circus.

While at the circus, Boog meets Doug, a lazy grizzly bear, who convinces Boog to switch his life in the forest for Doug's place in the circus.

While at the circus, Boog meets Ursa and falls in love. His friends visit the circus and try to talk Boog into returning home, but the smitten bear doesn't want to leave his love. Will Boog return to the gang in the forest or will he stay with the circus forever?

Snacks will be available for those attending the movie. There are two more installments of the Classic Kids Matinee this season: Madagascar Escape 2 Africa will be held April 13 and A Cinderella Story will show on May 11.
