Conference early bird registration extended

The Southern Illinois Volunteerism Conference will feature keynote speakers the Rev. Rob Dyer and Faith Roberts

MT. VERNON — — Early bird registration has been extended for the annual Southern Illinois Volunteerism Conference.

The conference will feature keynote speaker the Rev. Rob Dyer and Faith Roberts and is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 1. It will feature light morning refreshments, lunch and an exhibit hall.

The registration deadline has been extended to Thursday, Oct. 25.

Roberts is the director of magnet, parish nursing and OB services at Carle Foundation Hospital. She is a frequent presenter at state and national volunteer programs.

Dyer is the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon. His presentations offer a unique and enthusiastic approach to volunteer project management, information state.

“Those who recruit, train or manage volunteers and people who love volunteering should not miss this opportunity to learn from the experts in the field,” information states. “For over a decade, the conference has offered workshops on a wide variety of areas related to volunteerism, and this year will be no different.”

All participants will receive a certificate of completion with instructional hours at the conclusion of the conference. Workshops and training conducted at this conference may also be used for certification in volunteer administration recertification.
