INA — Two people were arrested shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday in Ina on suspicion of drug activity.
Ina Police Department, with assistance from the Ewing Police Department, raided a house in the 2300 block of North Benton Lane, according to a news release from Ina Chief of Police Travis Allen. Police obtained a search warrant from State's Attorney Doug Hoffman after police received a report from a confidential source about illegal narcotic sales at the home.
Arrested were Rodney Howard, 55, of the same address, and Terry Howard, 46, of the 300 block of West Third Street, Bonnie. Allen reported the home contained a few hundred prescription pills, marijuana, drug equipment, ammunition, and over $20,000.
In the release, Allen stated, "We're glad to get these drugs off the streets and out of our town. This is the kind of activity that tears small communities apart. We are going to continue to take a proactive approach at getting these drugs and drug dealers off the streets."
Formal charges against the pair had not been filed as of late Monday afternoon.
