Two hurt inthree-vehicle crash
MT. VERNON — Two people were injured following a three-vehicle accident at 4:22 p.m. Monday on Illinois 37 at Bethel Road.
According to police, a vehicle operated by 72-year-old Ralph Taylor of Mt. Vernon was stopped for traffic in the northbound lane. Taylor, who was towing a boat and trailer, was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Kelsei Green, 24, of Mt. Vernon. Green’s vehicle was then struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Bethany Crisp of Ewing. Crisp was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
A passenger in Taylor’s vehicle, Colton Taylor, 70, was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. A passenger in the Crisp vehicle, Tinley Crisp, 2, was also injured but not transported, police reported.
