RLC to host naturalization ceremony

n Be a person of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States during all relevant periods under the law.

The service has been held several times at Mt. Vernon Township High School. Two services were held there in 2009, and another in October 2010.

Although the ceremony is an official court proceeding, the Court elects to host naturalization ceremonies at locations throughout the district several times each year to provide students and the public and opportunity to witness the naturalization process and learn more about how immigrants to the United States become citizens.

The Southern District of Illinois is one of three federal judicial districts in Illinois and is comprised of the 38 southernmost counties.
