Harmony Roses, a 20-member a cappella group, sponsors the show each year as its major fundraiser.
Proceeds help fund the group's community performances and competition events, Webb said. Specifically, the money goes toward transportation expenses, costumes, and other supplies.
The group performs locally at hospitals, nursing homes and churches, as well as at community dedications and other events. In addition, the group participates annually in national competitions.
“Harmony Roses is a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International,” Webb said. “We're a nonprofit organization.”
The annual show typically brings in $1,500 to $2,000. Attendance is generally around 200 people, but organizers expect a bigger crowd this year, Webb said.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Kids 5 and under get in free. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the door.
The Harmony Roses Chorus is always on the look-out for new members, Webb said. The group practices at 7 p.m. every Thursday at Second Baptist Church, 605 S. 34th St., and the public is welcome to attend.
