---- — The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Ella May of Midlothian, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Virgil R. May III of Midlothian, to Mr. Dylan Allen Marker of Ashland, Ore., son of Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Marker of Virginia Beach and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Armstrong of Twisp, Wash., took place on July 12, 2013, at The Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan. The Rev. Sammie Frame officiated.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. Jim Settle of Ina; the late Mrs. Betty W. Settle; the late Mr. Daniel Keeney; and the late Dr. and Mrs. Virgil R. May Jr., formerly of Richmond. The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Riley and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Robertson, all of Crestline, Calif.; Mrs. Marilyn Holshouser of Greenville, N.C., Mr. Wayne Crabb of Chesapeake; and Mrs. Jean Ekberg of Virginia Beach.

The bride was given in marriage by her father in a garden ceremony. She wore a full-length Justin Alexander couture lace dress with specially designed earrings that were a gift from her parents. She was married with her mother’s wedding ring. Her father’s wedding ring was wrapped around her bouquet along with an antique doily made by her maternal great-great-grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Simmons. Ivy from her sister’s wedding was incorporated into her blush and ivory bouquet.

Mrs. Amy Lubinskas of Moseley was her sister-s matron of honor. Miss Lauren Myers of Midlothian was her friends’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer McKenzie of Richmond, friend of the bride; Whitney Babb of Virginia Beach, the groom’s sister; Susan Fitak of Midlothian and Emily May of Matthews, both cousins of the bride; and Lexie Lubinskas of Moseley, the bride’s niece. Bella Lubinskas of Moseley, the bride’s niece, and Kadyn Marker of Ashland, Ore., the groom’s daughter, were junior bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid wore a different style of charcoal dress, while the junior bridesmaids matched in blush pink dresses.

Mr. Jesse Franks of Richmond was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Jason Holbrook, Corey Gamble and Adam Ward, all friends of the groom and of Richmond; Peter Lubinskas of Moseley, the bride’s brother; and Virgil May IV of Midlothian, the bride’s brother. The groom served with groomsmen Jesse, Corey and Adam in Iraq under Operation New Dawn. Lucas Stocks of Chesterfield, the groom’s cousin, was ring bearer.

Readers were Jillian Stocks, the groom’s cousin, and Amy Lubinskas, the bride’s sister. Greeters included Bryan Stiglich, Ashley Chaney and Jude Williams, all friends of the couple. Rickie Denton was harpist. Wedding director/mistress of ceremonies was Colleen of The Mill at Fine Creek and Kate Alford. Florist was Mary Henry. Pearl’s Cupcake designed a three-tiered cake that was adorned by a diamond and pearl brooch that belonged to the bride’s maternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Brayton Weaver.

The bride attends Virginia Commonwealth University in pursuit of her MBA. She previously graduated from VCU with a bachelor’s degree in business and a minor in criminal justice. The groom is employed with the Department of Defense and serves in the Virginia National Guard.

The couple reside in Midlothian, Va.
