    The YMCA of Jefferson County will be hosting “Leap Year Trivia Night” on Feb. 29. The event will be held at the Mt. Vernon Primary Center and is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

    The event, Where to Sell Attic Treasures, will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., both days at Hampton Inn , 221 Potomac.

    There is a boil-water notice in effect for the 1200 block of South 15th Street, 1500 block of Herbert and 1301 South 16th Street until further notice.
  • Short Street railroad bridge in Bluford closed
    BLUFORD — The Short Street railroad bridge in Bluford is closed until further notice, according to the Jefferson County Highway Department.
    The street is being closed due to construction. Residents are being asked to take alternate routes and avoid the construction area.
