MT. VERNON — Boil orders lifted

Boil-water orders have been lifted for the 2600 block of Benton Road; the 100 block of Casey Avenue; the 100 block of E. Opdyke Avenue; the 1200 and 1300 blocks of South 28th Street; and the 200 and 300 blocks of Main Street.


Tax help delayed

The AARP TaxAide free tax return filing at Central Christian Church will be delayed until Feb. 4 due to the federal government delay in approving tax law changes as part of the fiscal cliff negotiations. The program is free, AARP membership is not required and there are no age or income limits for the service, although special considerations are given to those older than 60 with low to moderate incomes.


Benefit to be held

A benefit dinner and live auction for Kevin Greenwalt will be held starting at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Wayne City Community Building. Greenwalt suffered a severe injury in a hunting accident and has been unable to work. The dinner will include pork chop or chicken by Steve Ehrhart. Housing Authority to meet

The regular monthly meeting of the board of commissioners of the Housing Authority of Jefferson County will be held 7 p.m. Jan. 23, at 109 Shiloh Dr. A workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m.
