F. Eugene Becker
F. Eugene Becker, 83, of Tyler, Texas, passed away April 17, 2006, in Tyler, Texas.
Mr. Becker was born to the late Leslie and Leatha O’Neal Becker May 14, 1922, in Rupert, Idaho. He was raised by his stepfather, Lee Johnston of Bonnie. He lived in Tyler, Texas, for seven years.
Mr. Becker was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an oil field worker and retired from A.L. Bowen Center in Harrisburg. He also worked as a supervisor for the Illinois Department of Mental Health. Mr. Becker was a sea bee in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald E. Becker; a grandson, Ronnie Becker; a sister, Charlotte Garrison; and a brother, Newton Becker.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Gregory Becker of Tyler, Texas; a son, D. Roger Becker and wife Patricia of Tyler, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Thelma Becker of Chandler, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Gregory K. Becker, Cristina A. Dwarzanin, Robert Becker, Juli Becker-Grant, Christian Becker, Sarah Letsinger, Jedidiah Becker and Emily Becker; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ernest L. Johnston and wife Eflene of Mt. Vernon; sisters Roxie Williams of Trenton, Verla Grammar and husband Lonnie of Royalton and Gayla Lane and husband Lonnie of Indianapolis, Ind.
Graveside services for Mr. Becker will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Bishop Greg Schroeder will conduct the service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
