— Johnnie Lee Allen, 57, of McLeansboro, passed away at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Mayberry Township in Broughton.
He was born in Hamilton County on July 21, 1950, a son of John Franklin and Sylvia Lorene (Fann) Allen. He married Gloria Denbo, and she preceded him in death. He was an oilfield sandblaster worker.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Keith “Chuck” Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery near McLeans-boro.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Johnnie is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sylvia and Cyril Doerner of Norris City; brothers, Joe Allen and wife Vickey of Enfield, Ronnie Allen and wife Lavonne of Carrier Mills and Michael Allen and wife Judy of Carmi; and sisters, Brenda Hartman and husband Ronald of Omaha and Sherry Stover and husband Corbett of Norris City.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife; one son, John Adam Allen; one granddaughter, Brandy Nicole Allen; and also a dear friend, June Hale.
Johnnie was a member of the White County Sports-man Club and was Protes-tant by faith.
