Nigel I. Medlin Morgan

Nigel I. Medlin Morgan, 88, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Carmi, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008.

She was born Nov. 17, 1919 in Herald, the daughter of Alva and Pearl (Harvey) Hoy. She married Francis Lee Medlin, and he preceded her in death. She then married Earl Morgan, and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Morgan retired from Ainsbrooke Clothing Factory. She was a charter member of the Carmi American Legion. She also belonged to the Moose and VFW.

She is survived by one sister, Doris Upton of Carmi; two sisters-in-law, Florence Hoy of Carmi and Flora Schwietzer of Merrillsville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Shirl, Walter and Luther Hoy; and five sisters, Clara Hoy, Dorothy Hoy, Orpha Hughes, Mildred Hale and Golda Guthrie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stendeback Family Funeral Home/Kittinger-Fair in Carmi.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Vernon and will be accepted at the funeral home.
