Carl C. Schram
Carl C. Schram, 82, Mt. Vernon, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born in Oran, Mo., on Aug. 15, 1925, a son of William Estel and Mary C. (Sandusky) Schram. He married Marilyn Langenfeld on Nov. 9, 1985, in Williamson County. Carl worked in sales for the Occidental Petroleum Company.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemtery in Mt. Vernon. The chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 will conduct a military flag presentation at the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Carl is survived by his wife, Marilyn Schram of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Carla Henry and husband Rickey of Glenwood and Carol Blankenship and husband Mark of Southern Illinois; a son, Carl J. Schram of Salem; three step-children, Guy Langenfeld and wife Vicky of Austin, Texas, Jeanne Plassman of Austin, Texas, and Glenda K. Jordan and husband Wayne of Walnut Hill; eight grandchildren, Ericka Henry of Palatine, Brandon Henry and wife Suzanne of Glenwood, Dustin Henry of East Hazelcrest, Tiffany Hoyla and husband Anthony of South Dakota, Angel Smith of Salem, Crystal Smith of Salem, Kyle Finfrock of Salem and Cole Finfrock of Salem; eight step-grandchildren, Jeremiah Jordan and wife Amanda of Carlyle, Erin Moser and husband Wade of Mt, Vernon, Jake Jordan of Walnut Hill, Justin Jordan of St. Louis, Mo., Matthew Langenfeld and wife Rosie of Austin, Texas, Lauren Langenfeld of San Marcos, Texas, Jennifer Knobbe and husband Chris of Austin, Texas, and Amanda Plassman of Austin, Texas; brother, Estel Schram and Madeline Snider of Marquette Heights; sister, Juanita Smith of Peoria; sister-in-law, Barbara Schram of Benton; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one niece and three nephews.
His parents; brother, Ralph Schram; and brother-in-law, Raymond Smith preceded him in death.
Carl loved spending time with his family, loved his motorcycle, and loved fishing with his brother and was a member of Logan Street Baptist Church.
