Beryl O. “Momio” Snyder

— Beryl O. “Momio” Snyder, 86, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at White Oaks Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Temple, Okla., on Jan. 2, 1922, a daughter of Cecil C. and Jerel M. (Crow) Powell. She was married to Richard “Dick” Snyder, and he preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Community Church in Mt. Vernon with Pastor David Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Momio is survived by two sons, Richard C. Snyder and B.J. of Mt. Vernon, and Roy L. Snyder and wife Judy of St. Peters, Mo.; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Jacobs and husband Jim of Overland, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sheri Slusher and husband Ron of Rantoul, Staci Snyder of Mt. Vernon, Ray Snyder of Beijing, China and Scott Snyder and wife Rachel of Haubstadt, Ind.; five great-grandchildren, Kayla Chelf of Rantoul, Haley Snyder of Mt. Vernon, Amber Nelson of Stronghurst and Connor and Emma Snyder of Haubstadt, Ind.; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a nephew, Gary Wayne Young of Eastland, Texas; and special friend, Donna McGovern of Mt. Vernon.
Her parents; one sister, Naomi Young; and her first husband, Richard F. “Dick” Snyder preceded her in death.
Momio was a member of Grace Community Church.
