Angus Obal Green
Angus Obal Green, 97, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, at Heritage Center.
He was a truck driver for 42 years, retiring from Signal Delivery in 1973. Angus served in the Army during World War II, and he was a member of the teamster Local 215 where he served as a trustee for 16 years. Angus enjoyed gardening, and being his last name is Green, he had a "green thumb." Things
he especially liked to do were spending time with his family and friends, gardening, following the stock market, and going to the horse races.
He is survived by a daughter, Jackie Hayes of Florissant, Mo.; sister, Mae Sumner of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Joan Kerr and her husband, Ron, David Reinhart and his wife, LouAnn, Bret Hayes and his wife, Sonya, Bruce Hayes and his wife, Clarita; great-grandchildren, Kenny Reinhart, Gus Hayes, Kaylin Hayes, Austin Hayes, Conner Hayes and Jeffrey Kerr; and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Agnes (Baranowsky) Green; his parents, Ina Hattie (Sammons) and Francis Marion Green; a daughter, Freda Lea Reinhart; sister, Bertha Sheilds; brother, Amos Green; and a great-granddaughter, Katie Reinhart.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Heritage Center and Heritage Hospice for all their care and they especially want to thank Father Ted Tempel for all his compassion, friendship, and his support throughout the years.
