— James Allen Carney, 66, of Opdyke died at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.
He was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Rend City, son of Rassie and Ruby (Webb) Carney. He married Judy Lorance on June 16, 1968, in Opdyke, and she survives in Opdyke.
Also surviving are two sons, James “Marty” Carney and Steve Carney, both of Opdyke; and a brother, Dean Carney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Carney; and two half brothers, Sam Williams and Lee Williams.
Mr. Carney was a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Brother David Shores officiating. Interment will follow at Crisel Cemetery in Dahlgren.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
