Nancy Hirons

— Nancy Hirons, 55, of Grand Bay, Ala., formerly of Waltonville, died at 10:43 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, in Grand Bay.
She was born Jan. 11, 1953, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Knox and Dorothy (Wells) Hirons.
She is survived by a brother, Charles K. Hirons of Waltonville; two aunts, Helen Wells of San Antonio, Texas, and Marlene Hart of Grand Bay; and several cousins.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Miss Hirons was a 1974 graduate of special education at Mt. Vernon Township High School. She was interested in arts and crafts, particularly needlepoint. Over the years she made beautiful needlepoint pieces. She remained at home with her parents until the death of her mother in 2001. Since that time, she has resided in Grand Bay near her aunt Marlene Hirons Hart.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with the Rev. Clifford Hicks officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
