Reba Tucker

Reba Lucille Tucker, 80, Mt. Vernon, passed away at 12:48 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

She was born in Mt. Vernon on Friday, March 16, 1928, a daughter of William Joseph and Opal (Williams) Anderson. She married Jimmie L. Tucker on June 5, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2006.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Dahlgren with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow.

In honor of her wishes there will be no public visitation.

Reba is survived by two sons, Jerry Tucker of Mt. Vernon and Randy Tucker and wife Mary Jane of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren, Cheri Tucker and Greg Hollan of Alto Pass, Ryan Tucker and wife Carrie of Wayne City and Julie Tucker and Steve Ward of St. Charles, Mo.; five great-grand-children, Jef-frey, Dalton, Jacob, Jolie and Matthew; a sister, Ruby Myers and husband Bill of Mattoon; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; her husband; a grandson, Jeffrey Tucker; and one brother, Donald Joseph Anderson preceded her in death.

Reba loved her family, her grandchildren and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to the TIP Hospice of Centralia and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
