Goldie M. Morris

Goldie M. Morris, 74, of Centralia, died on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Centralia Manor Nursing Home in Centralia.

She was born on May 21, 1935, in Opdyke, daughter of Jesse Newton McMahan and Eva Pauline (Goss) McMahan. She married August L. Morris on May 8, 1952, in Opdyke, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1981.

Mrs. Morris is survived by two sons, Dean L. Morris and Carlene of Centralia and Allen D. Morris and wife Michele of Centralia; two daughters, JoAnn Lampe and husband Stephen of Nashville, Tenn., and Donna Robinson and husband Tony of Centralia; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Hartnell and husband Jason of Richmond, Ky., Stephanie Bowen of Centralia, Eric Bowen and wife Vicki of Irvington, Jarrod Morris of Centralia, Chase Lampe, Cameron Lampe, Cailin Lampe and Chandler Lampe all of Nashville, Tenn.; a great-grandchild, Marissah Bowen of Irvington; three brothers, Billy Joe McMahan of Mt. Vernon, John McMahan of Lacon and Roy McMahan of Peoria; two sisters, Mary Champ of Woodlawn and Ruby Pfalsgrof of Woodlawn; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Eva McMahan; a brother, Frank McMahan; and two sisters, Jessie Pauline Parkhill and Pearl Catherine Wilson.

Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and had worked alongside her husband as owner and operator of Morris Mobile Home Transportation for more than 48 years. She was a member of the First Church of God in Centralia.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Boggs Chapel at the Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia. Celebration of life services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Boggs Chapel at the Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia with the Rev. Peter Hedeen officiating.

Burial will follow at West Salem Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
